I’m going to add a few links in the section, as I slowly regenerate this site from its two-year hiatus.
Two which have been a great help, specifically LGBT history:
- Les Archives gaies du Québec is by far the best for anything related to Quebec’s history, as well as many things besides. Their groundbreaking work has been the jumping-off point for much of mine
- The Canadian Lesbian and Gay Archives is great more generally, and especially for anything Ontario-specific
Most of my research has been outside LGBT-specific avenues, though, and most of it offline in libraries and archives. Anyone who hasn’t been to their local archives should go – it’s a wonderful experience, and Montreal’s is quite literally a palace. Two online resources are Quebec’s complete archival search PISTARD, and Early Canadiana Online.
I thought I’d link my boyfriend’s comic strip. He’s contributing in his own way to Canadian LGBT culture!
More to come!
